Developmental
Editing.
Sentence-level clarity. Paragraph cohesion. Chapter-to-chapter argument. For scholars who take their prose as seriously as their research.
Every word counts: that is a cornerstone of my developmental editing practice. I read on the level of the individual sentence, ensuring clarity of communication. From there, paragraph to paragraph, chapter to chapter, I read to create cohesion through your entire manuscript.
While I correct grammar and punctuation, that is not the objective of my work. As your developmental editor, I am in conversation with you about the manuscript’s substance. I have also helped clients revise manuscripts based on reader reports.
I have worked with faculty on successful Fulbright Scholar applications to Australia, Spain, and France, along with many successful student Fulbright applications. Even more so for grant seekers, every word counts.
