Susan E. Weiner provides expert developmental editing and academic consulting for faculty, postdoctoral scholars, and institutions. With an interdisciplinary background in contemporary French Studies and extensive experience in academic writing, grant applications, and honorifics strategy, she works as a trusted thought partner to help clients refine dissertations and book and article manuscripts for publication.
Professional Background
Susan’s developmental editing clients have published with university presses such as Rutgers, Duke, and the University of California, and in journals such as Medical Anthropology Quarterly, Ethnic and Racial Studies, and American Sociological Review. She brings to this collaborative work an interdisciplinary background in contemporary French Studies and experience in grant writing. Readability is paramount.
Her consulting work in honorifics strategy comes out of three years as Brown University’s first External Honorifics Manager. During those years at Brown she oversaw a 300% increase in nominations, nine of which were successful. On a national level, she spearheaded an affinity group for honorifics professionals within NORDP (the National Organization of Research Development Professionals).
